Assembling the Right Machine Translation Post-Editing Solution

When we say everyone is doing it, we admit that the term means different things to different people. Linguists do it to get a handle on pressing projects. Language service providers (LSPs) do it to gain efficiency and cost savings for their clients. But where to a translator, grabbing a quick Google translation of a source text before getting to work is, as it looks, a shortcut to time savings and productivity, more and more it is also just a basic requirement for staying competitive on falling rates as an independent linguist. It is hardly a well-defined practice for quality assurance (QA) – the original purpose of the 'PE' in MTPE – and there is a very fine line between reducing heavy lifting and cutting corners.
