SAN FRANCISCO (BUSINESS WIRE) – CSOFT International, Inc., a leading provider of globalization and communications solutions, announced today that it is sponsoring employee Nate Denny’s participation as a rider in the AIDS LifeCycle ride. The annual fundraiser, which is co-produced by the San Francisco Aids Foundation (SFAF) and Los Angeles LGBT Center, takes place from May 31 through June 6th.
Companies that are sponsoring this year’s AIDS/LifeCycle include Microsoft, FedEx, Deloitte, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. “CSOFT is proud to support the ride’s goal of reducing new HIV infections and improving the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS,” says Shunee Yee, CEO and President of CSOFT. “The statistics around HIV/AIDS are heartbreaking.”
An estimated 35 million people around the world are living with HIV. In the US alone, 50,000 more will become infected this year. “The AIDS/LifeCycle participants make a bold statement that there is much work to be done in the fight against HIV/AIDS,” says Neil Giuliano, CEO of San Francisco AIDS Foundation. “Because of their efforts, we are able to provide all of our direct services for HIV prevention and care for free to more than 15,000 clients every year.”
Denny has a history of “paying it forward.” Less than two years ago, he donated his kidney to a complete stranger after reading a New York Times story about kidney chains. Today, Denny is a certified volunteer counselor at SFAF’s clinic where he spends many evenings after working a full day as a Senior Client Services Manager for CSOFT.
“We knew Nate was an extraordinary individual when we hired him last fall,” continues Yee. “He inspires us all to do better.”
Denny adds, “I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as the ride approaches. And gratitude of course to have the support of my office, family and friends.”
