The video game market has been expanding drastically over the last few years and will continue to increase at a CAGR of 7.9% from 2016 to 2021, according to Digi-Capital Research. Game software and hardware combined are set to drive more than $150 billion in revenue for the first time ever in 2017, with software taking around 75% and hardware around 25% of the total.

Since the launch of the iPhone, the mobile games industry has grown exponentially. With its 14.5% CAGR and expected revenue of $80 billion in 2021, mobile games have become the largest market sector in the gaming industry.
