New Social Network That Connects People Through Knowledge, Not Selfies

Blossary.comSan Francisco, Calif. (September 17, 2014) –CSOFT International, Inc., a leading provider of globalization and communications solutions, announced today the official launch of Blossary.com, a social networking platform focused on spreading knowledge and language to the masses.

“In a world full of social networking platforms, Blossary.com sets itself apart by focusing on what isn’t being pushed so readily on places like Facebook and Twitter,”says Edward Ednilao, Product Manager at CSOFT International, Inc. “As individuals, we are constantly creating content online that in turn, represents who we are to the outside world. However, this steady stream of random images and text is not a representation of what we know or what we’re learning. Recent studies show that people become more depressed after spending time on Facebook. What if we gave users a place to show off their expertise in wine, college, art or Seinfeld episodes? Facebook made selfies sexy; we want Blossary.com to give users a place to show off what they know, not how they look or what they are eating.”

CSOFT has already created the extremely powerful tool in TermWiki.com, which has defined over 1.7 million terms in over 100 languages. Blossary.com uses the same extensive database that allows its users to showcase their knowledge through the creation of terms but also allows them to personally curate their own personal collection of knowledge into what we CSOFT calls “Blossaries.” Each Blossary contains content created by both the individual user and other users of the Blossary.com community. Each Blossary can then be translated into more than 100 languages.

“I stumbled along a Blossary the other day on soft cheeses,”continues Ednilao.”The Blossary detailed an astonishing catalog of cheeses, something I appreciated as a cheese aficionado. But can you imagine a Blossary on something like the CERN Project, that could be translated into Spanish, Maori or even Zulu? Now that’s an extremely powerful educational tool, harnessing the power of a social platform.”

“CSOFT is at the forefront of global communications and understands the importance of knowledge being accessible to all,”commented Carl Yao, Executive Vice President at CSOFT International. “Blossary.com provides the platform for knowledge sharing and removes the traditional barriers to access like not understanding the language. We are harnessing the crowd to share knowledge, instead of selfies, connecting users to an audience beyond their 500 friends and into the most fascinating corners of the world.”
